ESTA Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback
The Electronic System for Travel Authorization ESTA is an automated system that determines the eligibility of visitors to travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program VWP. ESTA was mandated by the Implementing Recommendations of the 9/11 Commission Act of 2007 for travelers from VWP countries arriving in the U.S. by air or sea. Authorization via ESTA does not determine whether a traveler is admissible to the United States. U.S. Customs and Border Protection CBP officers determine admissibility upon travelers’ arrival. The ESTA application collects biographic information and answers to VWP eligibility questions.
In September 2018 Catherine Best reported for TRAVELLER website about USA visa waiver ESTA in which she stands out: “I have visited the USA multiple times since the ESTA scheme was introduced almost 10 years ago without any issues. I made an amateur mistake courtesy of the Google gremlins. No pity for the stupid, I hear you. But these shonky ESTA sites are convincing, and it's an easy mistake to make for the travel uninitiated or the time-poor erring on careless. Type ESTA into Google and the page is filled with links to disreputable sites; the first four hits are all paid ads with "ESTA" somewhere in the title, and the legitimate site is buried halfway down the page. For the record, it's https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov.At least my ESTA checked out (as verified by US customs). Some unsuspecting travelers are conned outright and receive nothing. Or worse, they have their personal data and credit card information was stolen and are at risk of identity theft and credit card fraud. In most cases, though, the sites are opportunistic money-making schemes that prey on consumer ignorance, rather than phishing fiends."These websites vary in how they operate and while some websites are lawful third-party providers charging significant 'service fees', other websites fraudulently impersonate the US government and charge customers exorbitant amounts without ever providing the visa waiver," Queensland Police warned just this week. "Providing your personal information to these websites could be putting your personal information at risk, "I asked CBP how many travelers fall for these scams (it must be thousands; 77 million international visitors crossed Uncle Sam's borders last year). No figures were provided, a CBP spokesperson instead stressing that third-party sites are "NOT endorsed by, associated, or affiliated with" the government and its departments”

Current Employee - Dispatcher says"I have been working at ESTA full-time for more than 10 years Cons: Bullying Terrible management team Constant putdowns Clique-y high school environment Rude coworkers"
Current Employee - Dispatcher says"I have been working at ESTA part-time for more than 5 years Cons: The most incompetent management team I have ever come across. ESTA seems to attract/promote underperformers who would be laughed out of an interview with private enterprise or any reasonably performing government organisation. Some staff have siren envy and this is the closest they'll ever get to working for an actual emergency service. Can't get the leave we're entitled to."
Former Employee - Finance Officer says"I worked at ESTA full-time for more than a year Cons: Workplace bullying was rife within the finance team. I would say good morning when I arrived and got no response. Manager was rude and humiliated me numerous times daily. When the bullying was reported HR did nothing to diffuse the situation."
Current Employee - Police Call Taker says"I have been working at ESTA full-time Cons: Terrible hours, graphic and horrible work, some of the most incompetent people you will ever find. The management here is so terrible it is beyond repair. Some of the senior management, even first level managers are so unbelievably bad at people management, basic admin skills and horrendous at most aspects of being a manger that is has created an extremely toxic culture. As stated, the abilities of the managers are so far gone and under the requirements for a successful organisation that it is impossible to correct or fix with training. Horrible place to work."
Former Employee - Emergency Services Call Taker says"I worked at ESTA part-time for more than 3 years Cons: Management, bullying inside the building, offers flexibility but gives you a hard time if you require flexibility, you’re just a number"
Current Employee - Call-Taker says"I have been working at ESTA full-time for more than a year Cons: Abusive callers Burnout Seeing calls waiting when there aren't enough staff"
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"I worked at ESTA full-time for more than 3 years Cons: The senior management is like a revolving door, the churn is almost unbelievable. Consequently, business functions are in constant review, and nothing much really gets done. It has a blame culture and generally does not support its people."
Current Employee - Dispatcher says"I have been working at ESTA full-time for more than 8 years Cons: Boring, Long hours, Night shift, Repetitive, Bullying"
